Or...Tales from the farmland, episode 4. My previous posts are all about life in the farm which my friend M is sharing with me on the net. Anyway, the latest is the picture of the beanplant that she shared.Beans are fast growing plants, .Overnight they seem to shoot up inches. Of course, Jack's had magical qualities and that's why it grew up into the clouds. Everyday life ones like these too get their crop ready in a very short time. In the process they also fix nitrogen into the soil. So my friends rotates crops with beans plants. I like beans and have found that dried butter beans or kidney beans are very handy to add volume to a meat dish when there are more people and only a bit of meat. My other favourite is stir fry with onions and black pepper. What is yours?

We've never managed to get fond of any sort of beans other than green beans.

The stir fry I like is with green beans. Green beans, cabbages and carrots are the staple in the chiwmein found widely on the streets and a favourite with young people

Those red kidney beans unless good quality, take a lot of time to get soft even if you pressure cook them. Once in a way ,I do like them cooked with tomatoes, mint and green chillies Green beans are easy to grow and very tasty if just off the stalk and homegrown I love spinach but have stopped buying as vast quantities of pesticide put on them as it is a favourite with people in winter. So farmers want large quantities

@responsiveme I love butter beans. Beans are a great crop to grow to enrich the soil as you say. In spring I will be planting green beans and broad beans. My other speciality is garlic. I have 50 plants developing well.

I love beans too, but am too wary of eating it because of its uric acid content.
