Seasonal afternoon

My husband and I went with a friend on an outing this afternoon. That sounds like I escaped from a nursing home! Heh heh. So....we drove north to a little town that has a play house. The play was called A Rented Christmas.
It was a charming play. A rich man walks into a rental shop: You say you rent anything? Then rent me Christmas! He sets into exactly what he wants to rent for the span of an evening and a day. Five kids, a wife: he wants to rent those. And presents and the tree and oh yeah, can't forget the carolers.
I admire anyone who can walk up onto a stage, remember lines, pretend to be somebody else and carry it all off well. I double admire kids who can do that. And do it all live. No camera or anything else between them and the audience.
After the play Santa appeared. He was willing to take orders from the kiddos. I don't think there were any youngsters in the audience so don't know what he did cause we left to go find a restaurant.

That sounds like a wonderful play. You should have told Santa what you want for Christmas since he came all that way.

@RasmaSandra You're right. I teased my friend about sitting with Santa but she said she would be too heavy for his legs.
