Breaking News or Breaking Hearts? Trending Hashtag on Twitter is About Tumblr!

I was signed in to my Twitter account and noticed that #Tumblr was trending. It wasn't just a trending hashtag. It was at the top of the list of trending hashtags. I know this is of no concern to many people at this site since I'm the only fruitcake here that has 7 Tumblr blogs! And I can't seem to convert anybody to become a Tumblr-ite. But the reason Tumblr is trending is because they have decided to NOT ALLOW PORN! For many Tumblr users, I think this breaking news is breaking hearts. I can't stop laughing. Porn. Adult content. Whatever you want to call it, many users are none to happy about this. The outraged responses are something to the effect … “We don't agree with Tumblr management's definition of 'adult content'. Can you be more specific? I think my blog is 'art'. Why should it be deleted?” The thing is … I'm wondering why the decision is so sudden! I mean … December 17th is the Drop Dead Date! That's like less than 2 weeks for people to do any “saving” of their content. By comparison: Google Plus said they were shutting down but it's not going to happen until some time during 2019. That gives users a chance to find a new home for some of their posts. But I signed in to my Tumblr account TODAY, which is December 3rd, 2018 and saw the notice that December 17th , if you have an account that was created for adult content, IT'S ALL OVER! I'm not going to miss the adult content. But I do think my non-porn blogs are going to lose some followers. I don't know how many. I'll have to wait until after December 17th to see what the impact is. Another social media network making drastic changes. As the world turns.
