There once was a little old man and a little old woman who baked in the oven a Ginger Bread Chicken. The old man opened the oven to see how if the Ginger Bread Chicken was done. Before he knew it, the Ginger Bread Chicken leaped from the oven and said, "Cluck, cluck, I don't give a lickin'. You can't catch me I'm the Ginger Bread Chicken." The old man told his wife that the Ginger Bread Chicken was loose. "Come back." yelled the old man. "I'll chop you up like a goose." The Ginger Bread Chicken went this way and that. She pecked and flapped her wings. "Cluck, cluck, you're out of luck. You can't catch me. I don't give a lickin'. You can't catch me. I'm the Ginger Bread Chicken." A dog and a cat saw the Ginger Bread Chicken. They said together, "You are very weird looking. You look very tasty. Would you be so kind to enjoy dessert with us." The Ginger Bread Chicken cried, "You must take me for a fool. Don't you know that Ginger Bread Chickens rule? Sorry chumps, but I'm on my way to live again another day." The Ginger Bread Chicken went forward and back. She went around in circles until she came across Big Mac. "Why hello little Chicken. My name is Big Mac. I'm a hungry bull. I'm ready to attack." "Try as you might. You'll never succeed. I'm the Ginger Bread Chicken, and I'll always take the lead." Big Mac chased the Ginger Bread Chicken, but alas soon ran out of gas. Off went the Ginger Bread Chicken into the Land of Gum Drop Trees. "Why this place is glorious an sweet. It looks like I'll have plenty to eat." A hungry fox followed the Ginger Bread Chicken into the Land of Gum Drop Trees. "Look my friend. Isn't this a wonderful place. I do not wish to give you chase. Have a cup of Happiness Drink." And so the Ginger Bread Chicken did so without a second thought. "My this is yummy. I feel wonderful and yet...." The Ginger Bread Chicken soon had a major regret. The yummy drink made her feel giddy but tired. "I feel like I could go to sleep for a week. Cluck, cluck....snore." The fox smiled and approached the exhausted bird. "Sleep gently my dear. Not another word." Now you probably think that the fox ate the Ginger Bread Chicken, but that wasn't to be. The fox placed the Ginger Bread Chicken by the Licorice Tree. "I shall leave you now. No harm shall come to you. Goodbye and farewell. Be kind and never blue." And that is just what the Ginger Bread Chicken did. She never was threatened. She was happy and content. As for the old man and the old woman, they stopped looking for the Ginger Bread Chicken. They decided to bake a Ginger Bread Cookie. We all know how that story ended up.
