Fabulous Friday in Florida

Hi my friends! Just want to let you know we arrived safely in Florida. We had a good flight down, even though our flight was delayed and rerouted. We arrived 28 minutes later than expected. Lol!
After opening our condo, my husband found that our car needed a new battery. Our automobile club arrived within minutes and put one in. Out we went for dinner.
Today, we went out for breakfast, grocery shopped, and did errands. We spoke with friends here and already have a party to attend tomorrow night.
Friday date night was fabulous! We went out to dinner in our little city at a fantastic restaurant. We had such a wonderful dinner and fun time.
Dr. Jay emailed us. He heard we were back, although he is in Boston and freezing. Good! Apparently, he borrowed a dish of mine to show someone, because he liked it so much that he wants my set as a gift from that person. I sure hope my dish is returned! I never realized it was missing. His niece, who stayed in our condo without our permission, left it not quite right. But that’s another discussion when I calm down from being furious.
In any event, we are almost settled in. Our son has been in constant contact with calls, texts, and FaceTime. Doodles the cat is beginning to settle in. When we saw him yesterday to kiss and hug him goodbye for the next 6 months, he was loving until the lawn service showed up to blow leaves and trim bushes at our son’s house. That agitated poor Doodles.
To top off our Friday, my favorite day since I was 8 years old, Orville the Osprey flew by and chirped a big hello to us as we walked to our car! What a fabulous beginning to a fabulous Friday in Florida!

@DianneN Yes they are sad to see too. Winter is such a depressing time in the north and NE. I have no idea why people voluntarily move here. The actress Debi Mazar moved her family from LA to Brooklyn and said it was b/c she wanted her children to experience all 4 seasons. Seriously? Who would leave California weather to deal with cold and snow? I don't get it.

I am so glad you safely arrived, the weather is beautiful and Orville came to visit. 
The ginger kitty came inside yesterday, he sniffed my hand, purred a lot and visited the house.
I can imagine how furious you are about Dr. Jay and his niece. I would help you to "kill" them both.

He is a psycho con artist. The president of our board has it and will drop it off later. It was a dinner plate. Oh, those keys were taken away from him immediately after we found out that his niece used our place and that he drove our car. Our next door neighbor took over and he watches many condos. So glad he’s moving out Jan. 3rd. Many are happy to see him go!

suddenly, my mind went back reading about Dr. Jay. i recall what he did to you, but may i ask if you are still friends with him despite what he did to you, your car, and your house?
i hope Doodles will continue to be healthier now that you are far away from him.

@ridingbet He stopped by his condo, but took off overnight somewhere. He returned last night, but has been gone all day. Girlfriend? lol. That won’t last long. They never do.

Dianne it seems you have done a lot of things, and activities to get done. I am happy to hear again from Doodles and that he's doing fine with your son. However I expect the whole situation with Dr. Jay's niece being in your condo is cleared up so you can be relieved, I would be upset if it something like that happened to me too. Ps: What a great picture you posted, it is one amazing view! :)

Thank you! We have watched many sunrises and sunsets from here, although that sun can be blinding! It also makes me sneeze.

We are still working on getting things done, but thanks. That fat little Doodles is alone with my son’s brother-in-law today and overnight until my son and his wife return tomorrow from a prearranged trip to visit friends and spend the night with them. At least they are in my son’s house together. Knowing my son, he’ll be back by noon for Doodles.
Yes, I had a lot of cleaning thanks to Dr. Jay. He is out of town and will return Monday. Ugh!
I’m so happy you like the photo. I took it as soon as my husband removed those storm shutters and let in the light.
Hope all is going well for you! Just think.....we are so much closer to Caracas now! lol

@DianneN I think I have become Doodles' number one fan! I love that cute cat. Yeah Dianne how couldn't I like that amazing view? Actually I don't know if you've done it before, but I would take a couple of chairs out there and be sitting while there's sunset and having my partner by my side. it would be so romantic

It wasn’t a bad delay, but we never found out what caused it. It was awesome seeing Orville. We worry every year if he’ll be around. Thank you! We found a sandy flip flop under one of the beds when we cleaned and it wasn’t ours!!! Grrr to that creep!

It looking like gorgeous weather down there was that picture from your condo? Does Dr Jay stay in your place or check in on it through the summer? I don't remember reading about him before. It's been t toast with someone staying without permission too and that he borrowed your dish. That's what cameras are for our are phones I hope you get that back ok
Good that Doodles seems to be doing better than last year. They may need to put him on a different part of the house before service people show up or until he gets used to them. Didn't you have that done too, at your house in CT?

@DianneN Doodles will need to learn to hide under their bed when the services show up, or they may need to take Doodles to a quieter room when they realize he won't do well while the service is there.
Good that you took away his keys. Will you still be able to get that serving dish or whatever it was back again? It's unfortunate when people take advantage of those situations. Maybe he had that in mind when he first volunteered to help, but being a doctor you'd think he would have plenty of his own nice properties in which to lend out to his family or whatever.
Or heavens, take a photo of the plate and leave it in your house.

It’s is lovely here and that photo is from our condo. We heard from friends and neighbors that Dr. Jay was taking advantage of our friendship, so had the keys taken away from him. Our other neighbor has checked on our condo since then.
Doodles usually hides under our bed when service people are in our house. Poor baby.
