Diary 5th To 7th December 2018

Diary Wednesday 5th December 2018 I realized my wardrobe needs improving with some trousers recently splitting on me and a few shirts / jumpers no longer fitting, so I scoured round the shops (mostly charity shops) getting new clothes in. Diary Thursday 6th December 2018 Contacted by the newspaper that owes me payment for an article submitted in September to tell me payment should reach me by December 14th - way overdue. This was mostly a job searching day. Diary Friday 7th December 2018 A very busy day for me as a volunteer. We ran a stall at a charity groups day held at a local church. We ran a raffle and I sold quite a few tickets with even the Lord Mayor buying tickets off me. There was live entertainment proving by a local college drama group and some singers, as well as carl singers, with Father Christmas offering gifts to children who came along too. All quite lovely. In the evening I was invited to an awards event, the university's annual presentation for the outstanding education and support activities on campus. Our volunteering group (not me personally) have won in previous years and we were nominated this time though we didn't win this year. There was lots of free food and wine and a 1970's disco. It was a very nice occasion. The area was ravaged by very high winds and the last surviving leaf on the nearest tree to my flat was finally torn free by the elements and blasted away to who knows where. The event had a distinct Alice In Wonderland theme, with the venue decked out like wonderland, and food / drink vouchers marked with 'eat me' and 'drink me' labels. Youtube - Appropriate music - one of the songs inevitably danced to at the aftershow party (from Wayne's World 2)

@JudyEv sadly not no, I would have had to see the exact instant it fell or flew off on the winds

You do such a good volunteer job.I am glad you sold a few tickets. Congratulations to your group on being nominated. The wind is blowing here too today, it's not common in December.

@sol_cee The leader of the local government city council - mayors often support charity events and support civic parades and eventss like the one I went to.

An annoying wait for payment but perhaps a handy time for it to finally arrive. I have come to learn that some writing work/payments should be treated as long-term investment schemes!

@asfarasiknow I agree, the money will turn up in the end but not wise to depend on it by certain fixed dates

Was it wmca that was the I've played at the end? So many songs were in the background of that little clip it's hard to know for sure. But, three one must be a classic here and there.

You had a happening week...with charity work, volunteer work and a payment to look forward to coming week. It must have been a good occasion to enjoy though your team did not win this year.
