Today Is My Birthday and This Is The Conversation We Had Yesterday!

My father was laying on the sofa and television was running on the background!
My Mom was sitting next to him.. I was in bedroom and next to the room where my parents were watching television.. So, I could easily hear what they were talking!
My Mommai: Annie will be turning 24 tomorrow.. *I am called by my nickname, Annie and I call my mom as mommai!*
My Baba: ANNIE WILL BE 24???!!! *I don't know was that an exclamation or a question! I call my Father as Baba..*
*Then I entered to the room where they were chilling out*
My Baba: Oh, you are 24 and you don't have a job yet! So sad! icht icht..
*I was furious! Like, job is a fruit in the banana tree in our backyard! I don't know what happened to my mind and I blabbered..*
Me: Baba, what's your age now? Oh, you are over 60s! And you still don't have M.phil Degree!! He laughed embarrassingly..
My Mom: Oh, you are over 60s and could not complete this house!!
My Baba: Laughing out more embarrassingly!!
And I went back to bedroom with mixed emotions! I laughed it off as it was a typical comedy scene! But, I was also sad that I don't have job and my parents are also worried about that!

It's not something I would have dared to say to my father. We must be grateful to our parents for what they gave us. Should we have "studied" there was no money left to let you become a Phil. have you thought about this? Parents often renounce to many things for their children. All that said Happy Birthday.

May be you share more formal rapport with your father.. I share more friendlier and informal rapport with my father now.. Sometimes, I sit on him.. We argue like friends and we make fun of each other!

That was a hilarious scene indeed. You have a very informal setting in your house. I loved my father but I do not think we spoke like that I am a senior and so in those days it was different.
