BLANKET while asleep

Electricity resumed at 4PM; I was alone since 1:30 PM because my sister went to the hairdresser to have her hair trimmed and dyed black. I just switched on the ceiling fan but this evening, the temperature is dropping low to 20 degrees Celsius. I don’t use my blanket when it is hot at night. Since it is cold after midnight, I close the jalousies and sleep without blanket. But sometimes I wake up shivering so I unfold and use my blanket. The electric fan is not on; it is the climate that makes me shiver at times. Which is an idiosyncrasy of my son. Even when it is so hot during the peak of summer time, he uses his blanket while the electric fan is rotating. No, it is literally not his security blanket, I think. (But who knows?)

For me, even when it's hot, I have a thin blanket but my two feet is out of the blanket too. Now, it's December and a bit cold we are still using thin blankets, but my feet are in already.

i am using a blue blanket from Cathay Pacific, and it is short. i just cover the top of my body, fan is also close. the other blue blanket is now washed but not of Cathay Pacific. i forgot the airline where the blanket was ''snatched from''. hahah

@SIMPLYD well, that was the practice of some Filipinos traveling on international planes and besides, the stewards and stewardesses already get accustomed to that practice, not only Pinoys but also some foreigners. once, a tall American man took his blanket and bagged a one-shot glass of cognac.

I switch on the ac and hide under a blanket, I love doing it, I even take off my shirt, I love the cold but it's not that fun when I get my electric bill bill so I don't do it often.

true. but when we do not switch on our fans and AC's this cold season, we will enjoy the drop of our electric bills. during summer time of course i bills soar high.

@ridingbet it is not as cold here in Metro Manila, that's why people here go to provinces during summer, anyway I think the best blanket is a human blanket

My husband insists on a heavy comforter no matter what time of year, the silly. He also sticks one leg out.

yes, i imagine that. but some residents there can beat the cold even wearing sleeveless shirts, am i right? also, people there have rosy-cheeks. i had those when we had our affiliation in December 1978. maybe in one high land there, temperatures may dip down to 6 degrees?

@ridingbet No, we have big fever for years and winters are not so strong, sometimes in January or February we have weeks that are very cold with temperatures up to -20C

@ridingbet It's 5 below zero here this morning, cold enough for a duvet. I was not happy to get out of my bed this morning.

I've been sleeping with a blanket year round now. Though in summer, not both of them as I do in winter.

i have an airline blanket and it is thick but smaller so i have to assume the fetal position if i use it. this early morning, i unfolded the blanket and wrapped my upper body.

@ridingbet If he used it for sleeping I am sure it is not his security blanket but his blanket to keep him covered up.
