It's not decoration on a plate. It's beef carpaccio.

My husband and I went to an Italian wine bar restaurant last night and one of the dishes we ordered was Carpaccio Di Manzo (thinly sliced raw beef). When the dish came I was about to complain because all I saw was a plate with a nice decoration on it and a bit of arugula and cheese in the middle. I was about to ask where the beef was when I realized that what I thought was plate decoration was actually the beef carpaccio. The plate itself was a plain white plate. I couldn't stop laughing at the mix-up. The beef carpaccio was laid out all around the plate. I guess I didn't expect it to be that way and that's why I thought it was just a pretty design on the plate. The dish was delicious though. Wish I had taken a picture of it.

Haha. I'm glad they hadn't forgotten the meat.

It was. Still can't believe I thought it was plate decoration and not the beef carpaccio I was looking at.
