I have a long hair and most of the time, whenever I comb it, I get many falling hair. So, my mom told me not to use shampoo everyday. That is what I am doing. Instead of shampoo everyday, I use a conditioner. The problem is, when I do not use shampoo, I get dandruff but no falling hair..And If I use shampoo, no dandruff but have falling hair.

What shampoo are you using? Do you check the label of your shampoo? If it doesn't say paraben free an sulfate free then you are in danger of getting bald for using that shampoo on a daily basis. Also make sure that you don't use hot water or even warm water to wash your hair because doing so opens up the pores and thus the hair falls out. And don't condition daily. If you use a paraben and sulfate free shampoo and conditioner and do so only three times a week, never daily. Trust me, you won't have excessive falling hair and as to the dandruff, use lemon and aloe vera.

Thanks for the suggestion Toni! I have used Sunsilk, Palmolive, and Head and Shoulders before. Now, I am using Pantene. They just helped in me not to have dandruff but falling hair is always an issue. I have found out loreal shampoo is sulfate free..I just don't know if it is paraben free as well.

@annierose Unfortunately, you're using the wrong kind of shampoo. Those highly commercialised ones are a culprit and full of harmful chemicals that is the main cause of your falling hair and even thinning hair if used on a daily basis. It's very important that it's paraben free and not just sulfate free. You can tell because it's usually on the label of the shampoo I just hope that your excessive falling hair is not due to genetics. If you use the sulfate free and paraben free shampoo, use them three times a week. You can start by reducing it to 6 days a week first then gradually reduce it to three times a week. Your hair will adjust including your dandruff. Because the truth is dandruff if not caused by genetics, is caused by too much chemicals in your hair by the very shampoo you're using. I've tried several trials and errors in mine and I personally experienced what you experienced.

Why do you wash your hair every day? I think that you exaggerate. I wash my hair once a week and it always looks good. I don't have dandruff and my hair doesn't fall out. You can buy lotions against dandruff. You should inform yourself about them.

It is what is taught in here. We should wash our hair everyday because it is a part of our hygiene.

The healthiest thing to do is wash your hair once a week. You can get It wet, to remove product like hairspray, but once a week is recommended. Also, try the supplement, Biotin.

I use an anti dandruff shampoo formulated to make the hair stronger and thicker. I think you have to find a shampoo that is more suitable (hiyang) to you. I also had the hard time looking for one before. But I think I already found what is good for me.
