Tropical islands

I adore tropical islands with palm trees and coral reefs around them. I went to Belize and Caye Caulker was perfect. I was able to snorkel with nurse sharks and sting rays. The beaches had palm trees and white sand. The year after that my disabled son was born and two years after that my daughter was born. My son is in a wheelchair so it isn't possible for me to any snorkelling anymore. His wheelchair isn't easy to push on sand. Our last trip was to Madeira and the day tour guide showed us a wheelchair space on a beach where there was a wooden board suitable for a wheelchair to go along. It was such a lovely place to visit. Earlier this year we went to a palm fringed beach on Bohol Island. We had also seen a lovely tropical beach in Sri Lanka though the weather was too hot.

I would love visit Madeira. Last year we thought about going there, but we chose a vacation in Germany instead because that was a cheaper option. I would also like to visit some of the Carribean islands.

Madeira is worth a visit. In the Caribbean I loved the Island of Sint Maarten (half Dutch half French), two cultures and two languages on the same island with friendly people and good food.

@LadyDuck I hope we will get the chance to visit Madeira. I don't know much about Sint Maarten, I have only heard the name, but it sounds like an interesting place to visit. I like the idea of two different cultures on the same island.

@Porcospino I loved Sint Maarten (except the scary airport). I know it is still trying to recover after the hurricane Irma, the worst in the century. At least they receive help both from France and the Netherlands.

Madeira is a very nice Island, I have visited many Islands in the Caribbean, unfortunately I am not a fan of the beaches and there is not a lot else to do there, except very big Islands like Puerto Rico, or Cuba.

@LadyDuck Graham is a man that visited every country in the world by land or sea and he wished to go to Cuba on a boat from the USA. Someone took him there illegally. Sorry Cuba is so poor with children looking hungry. It is interesting your brother went there.

@ Lady Duck. My son's Year 4 teacher visited Cuba and she brought me back a postcard. It has culture to see and you don't have to see any of its beaches.

@maximax8 I have not visited Cuba, because we needed to go to the United States and they did not appreciate to see a stamp showing you visited CUBA. My brother went there, he told me that what he could not stand was to see so many poor kids and old people in the streets.

I see that site is registered in the Cayman Islands. It sounds very appealing to get together with others to buy an island.

@TiarasOceanView I am also fascinated by it. I know that Central America would be a possible location.

I have talked to a Canadian man who spent months at Goa and he was thinking of visiting the Andaman Islands. I wonder what they are like.

@maximax8 Andaman is way better than Goa if you want things to be quieter. Goa provides for an occasional night in town,I suppose but I don't see that in the Andamans.

So far I just travelled to Hainan Island in my country and some islands in Thailand. I enjoy the time when we were there. It was very relaxing and the scenery was beautiful. Especially my son liked to swim and play in the water.

The most beautiful beaches I've ever seen were in Cozumel, Mexico back in 1996.

I've read where there are lots enjoying the Islands. Great. Vacationing is a great way to ease frustrations.
