We cousins lived on the opposite side of the province but we were inseparable and very close up until we grew up and had jobs.
Meet ups became harder. Vacation leaves became rare and Airfares were too expensive. 4 years we weren’t complete. But today we are. My cousin is back from Qatar.
It’s so nice to have the posse reunited. How about you guys do you have relatives or people you’re really fond of that are very hard to meet due to adulthood and jobs?

I was very close to all my cousins when we were children, but as we've grown up and married and had kids, we've seen each other less and less. In fact, the last time all of us cousins got together in one place was when my dad passed away two years ago.

@moffittjc I Think Facebook is indeed a great help in bridging familial gap. Although there are some cousins that I really feel estranged with even when we are fb friends.

@flapiz I totally get it. I used to be so close to my cousins, and now it is a struggle for us to ever meet up in person. Everybody has their own lives to live, with family and work commitments and such. And what makes it harder for us is that everybody lives in different places, so none of us are currently living near each other. Thankfully, Facebook and other social media sites let us keep in touch with each other easily when we can't be together.

@JudyEv I see. Now I remember you mentioning him in some of your posts. How in the world did your son ended up marrying in Ireland? Was he backpacking when he met his wife? Have you ever been to Ireland ?
I’m planning to marry a French guy this situation makes me think of how my mum would feel.

@flapiz Oh sorry. Vince is my husband. I include him in so many of my posts that quite a few now know who he is. Regarding families seeming to be divided, I don't find it strange really. My situation is a bit different as one son is married in Ireland and his wife won't travel. The other son is single and four hours flight away. But my nieces and nephews are scattered all over the place and all their children are heavily involved in sports and music etc so it becomes hard for them all to get together. But that means that the oldies now find it a bit easier to get together from time to time. They still have contact through FB etc.

@flapiz Yes, it's good to enjoy every chance you have to bond with relatives as it might be a long time for the next chance.

Yay! I am sure you had a great time with them. My cousins live overseas and I don't see them often.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Life has an expiry. On the good note all the memories never die.

My father works abroad and I'm probably bound to work far away from my family soon. I guess birds need to fly when they sprout feathers, huh?
By the way, congratulations! I bet you guys were really close?

Hi Putri it’s my cousin almost the same age as me. I’m too young to be a grandma. Hahaha .
