My Life as a Soldier Pt1

December 17, 2018 4:23pm CST
I thought I was a giant in this world but I realized I’m much more. When I feel this trigger squeeze, I hear the blast in the heart of a lion’s roar. The power in this fingertip, I feel the rush in my core. Take other lives until there’s no more shards of my soul then I take some more. Wake up every morning to a schedule that says “train to kill”. Crushing someone’s chest is the only time I kneel. Dress it right, cover down. Charge the trigger, spray the town. Another bullet shot from me. Another body drops for free. Another beauty of this land. It drops its bodies where they stand. I breathe the red, white, and blue. Defending freedom just for you. Everyday a soldier dies. Apaches storming the skies. Hellfire raining down. Cries of pain then no more sound.
