I hate pain and I know that just because I haven't died yet don't mean that there isn't something on one or more levels trying hard to take me away before it's time. As the picture in this discussion shows a field of Poppy plants growing wild, it is of major concern for president Trump and the rest of us in America. We deal with pain in different ways, some just deal with it, others try to take some medications to help lessen the pain and others become so addicted to the medication that they often continue taking the medication, long after any symptoms of pain remain. Pain from exercise is what that saying means. If you exercise enough to make your muscles sore but don't go too far that direction, you might be able to make your muscles stronger for it. Pain from something being wrong in your body is another thing. This kind of pain can make daily life a living hell on earth sometimes for some people and people don't always know that it will just be painful long term or painful short term or if it is a killer or just a bother. I have not suffered the kinds of pain my wife has had and is still having. I have not suffered the kinds of pain my parents have had as they got older, but now that I have reached the ripe old age of 61, going on forever, I realize that pain is not all that easy to ignore. I work through pain. I can get a pain in my gut from lifting too much or bending and pain in my back for bending and grabbing things and turning my body around to reach for things. Some of this pain is from over exertion, but some of it might just be there to remind me that I need to take it slower now that I am reaching my ancient years. I feel like Methuselah, you know that guy who lived a 969 years after sleeping a long time and woke up with a long beard and long hair? I seek ways to deal with pain. For one thing, if my back hurts I lay on it. If my stomach hurts, I probably have an ulcer or acid reflux and need to cut back on strong coffee. People like me, who don't like pain, often fear the effects of or side effects of certain pain pills like Aspirin, Tylenol or other pain pills like Ibuprofen or harder drugs from the opiate group like Tylenol 3 or Tylenol 4 with Codeine or Hydrocodone, which is similar. For one thing Oxycodone or whatever they call it, is an addictive Opioid that comes from Poppy flower plants that grow naturally and have been used as a major financial trade source for many countries that grow it but since there is a bad situation here in America that puts many people who have chronic pain, at risk for addiction, the president wants to stop the mass production of Opioids in America. Read the article about it.

I love her and do everything within my power to keep her comfortable. I never hardly ever leave her alone. I can't risk it. She needs my attention now and I will be here for the long run and hope that is a long time.

@Courage7 , What is CBD oil? I am unfamiliar with that. Wait, I think I found a relevant article about it.
CBD stands for cannabidiol, one of the major constituents of cannabis. CBD products are made from industrial hemp and come in various forms.

Your President will change his mind the moment he is in pain himself.

I think you are right. From that angle I can understand the logic of it. The fact that we have an epidemic of addiction to opioids in America is an understatement anyway.

You poor guy. I really do hope you manage your pain some way some how and it don't get any worse. I think they say that Ibuprofen an irritate the stomach. If that is the case, I hope you don't have any stomach problems from taking that medicine. Do you?

I have severe psoriatic arthritis and pain is 24/7. Many thing because I am walking or out shopping, cleaning etc. I am not in pain. That is not the case. When I have my pain under "control" it's at about a 5 or 6. To some, that is horrific and they can't function. We all have our levels and how we deal. I've been on almost every medication for this condition and only added more issues. Now it's an Aleve or Advil to take the edge off. I won't take Opioids.
