Have You Ever Colour Stained Any Of Your Garments? I Just Did.

I had brought a odhani for my new Punjabi Dress. The Odhani was dark red in colour which gave away its colour when soaked in water I wasn't aware of it and soaked my other clothes with the Odhani. Few minutes later all clothes were stained by the red colour bleeding from the Odhani It was like my worst nightmare, my new dress and other garments all ruined I hated myself for being so hesitant. No use, to late for moaning on spilled milk, you guys be careful

I am sorry to hear about your clothes. I have done it once. My white towels became pink, but it could have been a lot worse. It was just the towels, it would have been a lot worse if it had been my clothes.

What a shame. I've done this a couple of times. Some items (underwear) seemed to stain evenly so I didn't have to throw them out.

I laughed a lot when you said (underwear), guess nobody will ever know that there is a multicoloured underwear inside

@kavinitu Probably it would have been best not to talk about stained underwear but I had white knickers which turned pink when they went through the wash with a red tablecloth.

Odhani or Dupatta can be addressed as scarfs or stoles in English which are worn over Punjabi Suit or Kurti Suit (Indian Dresses).

I wore pink socks and undies for awhile a few years back. Thankfully I had put the new shirt in the washer with those instead of with my other clothes.

I am careful while washing new cloths. I always wash them separately on first and seen how it behave. May be I have learnt enough lessons already

I used to dye some of my clothes ages ago when I was a sort of bourgeois hippie a thousand years ago.. I did better making jewelry and macramé bags.

I never wash red stuff with other clothing, I check it first to see if the color is solid.

@kavinitu When I was young, my mother showed me how to wash clothes and she always separated the different colors.

Oh.. that's so bad! Yes! Ofcourse! It would have happened with everyone but mine is different case you know! The black colour of my new kurtis stained it's colour in my red shawl of other dress...and thank God it did not spoil my shawl instead it became a pattern (design)
