New kid wont last!

I come in and manager hired this kid (20 something). He was to start last week he claimed on his first day emergency. He never showed up or called. He then shows up today. He worked 2 hours with me. He repeatedly asked for more than 40 hours a week. Sorry, but that won't happen unless someone calls in sick. He stood entire 2 hours watching Indian music videos and ignored customers. We have a bell on the door. I was talking about different shift duties and he literally ok and looked down at his phone. Usually I'd be like well ta ta have fun. But managers just trying to hire people so it's not his problem. I don't think he wants to leave but it's overwhelming plus his nagging girlfriend. It won't be my problem so I posted an ad and a lady coming for Wednesday for an interview she s retired and had the same job for 48 years. So I was thinking of giving her mom to thurs as she wants weekends off
