How Many Paint Colors Are In Your House At the Moment??

I swore that if this was to be our last house, I would paint it whatever colors I want... and they wouldn't have to match any other rooms. The colors would just be what I wanted and so be it. Guess what... None of know if this house is going to be a keeper. We bought it fast because we needed a house to move to and it looked like it would work... now we aren't so sure. So, much for painting whatever color appeals to me!! I might have to stick with neutrals! So tell me about your colors!!

I like the walls all of the same color, not white, but a warm "chamois" color.

@Hate2Iron At the upper floor we have wooden ceilings, the chamois color goes very well with the wood. I do not like white a lot, the house looks too "cold", like a hospital.

@FayeHazel I loved it but apparently it was a bit of a horror to paint with. But I loved it!!

I remember choosing what we thought would be a soft creamy yellow years ago to match rust colored furniture! The yellow was as vibrant as the rust colored furniture. It was horrible!! And all I wanted was a nice soft yellow lol!

Neutral colors is always a safe side if you move, but honestly do you! Paint whatever color you like & if you do end up selling the home, you can re-paint (or sell it as is). If the house market is like where it is here, it's flying off the shelfs (well where I'm at!) & people are buying regardless since when one buys, they should have an open mind :)

@Hate2Iron Yes, usually real estate agents have you repaint to add value to the home and be move in ready for the when you sale the house :) Quiet and warm is always nice.

Our real estate agents have always asked us to repaint... so we usually did. I guess it will be easier to just get used to the colors that came with the house... or if needed, choose something quiet and warm like Anna (above) suggested!!

That reminded me of when the kids were little. I let them pick out the color for their bedrooms. I can't remember the color my son chose, but our daughter picked a deep purple... and she still sold the house lol!! That's going back a long way!!

Paint whatever colour makes you happy. If you sell, it's not a big job for the new people to paint the colours that work for them.

Neutrals would be nice. I like watching youtube videos on decorating homes coz that gives me an idea about almost everything including paint colors.

We've just painted one spare bedroom and are about to do the other. We're doing them both the same as it is more economical. There won't be so much paint left over. A 4-litre cost $50 odd and a 2 litre $37 and 1 litre $34 which is ridiculous so we're going for one colour and the larger tins.

You are right... I would love to paint the entire downstairs, and the basement, so it would be more economical to use just maybe two colors that compliment each other. It can get expensive... you are right!!
