I have high respect for all the differences in this world. No matter how strange they are, they are still the source of learning. Most Asian people have always been practicing such beliefs that were passed on from one generation to another. For instance, in Japan. Korea and China believed that the number 'four' is considered to be unlucky. Believers claimed to be unlucky because the way of pronouncing the word 'four' is similar to the sound of death using their native tongue. "Are the local people in your place very superstitious? Why?" "Do you have unlucky numbers?" Image Credit: adelphistudio.com

I heard about it, too. Are there any beliefs not to have the thirteenth floor in buildings?

Do you have any reasons why 7 is not your lucky number?

@LadyDuck For Filipinos, some of them believed that it is bad luck to take photos of three people. Thinking that the middle person might have bad luck.

True a lot of Chinese fear the number 4 the same way most Catholic Christians and other Christian and pseudo-Christians fear the number 13 and 666 but 8 and 6 is lucky to them the same way 7 is lucky to most Christians.

@Shavkat pseudo-Christian superstition are mostly taken from the bible like 666 ( from the book of revelation), 13 is the number of Judas Iscariot and 7 has many significance in the bible like the creation of the world.

I do think that some of these superstitious beliefs have unknown origins. During the old days. elders tried to find the answers and created these beliefs. Eventually, it was passed on.

The number 13 is generally considered to be unlucky. Some people have their own particular numbers that they believe are lucky - or not. 7 is one that is often considered lucky.

It was like people in the USA. They do believe that Friday 13th is a bad luck day and number. In this point of view, Filipinos believed it, too. It is because we were colonized by American before.

Some people consider 666 an evil number. It represents the devil.

@kobesbuddy I agree. I think the new generation made it is as their accessories or logos such as emo or people who are in gothic style. It adds up to their total outfit in the crowd with the same passion and interest.

13 is not a lucky number here, I don't go anywhere on Friday the 13th because that seems to be unlucky for me.
