Derby car

My 6 year old son is in the process of making his pine wood derby car. It’s his first one that he is ever making for scouts. In 2 weeks they will be racing their cars against each other. All we have to do now is put his wheels on it. I bought 2 colors his picked out they where both 50 cent each and its the good craft paint so it’ll stay for a long time. He was supper excited to paint it after his daddy spend some time cutting it out for him. He did help choice the shape of his car. We look forward to race day.

That is really cool. I can see why he is so excited. I was in girl scouts and brownies and we had a day camp and sold cookies but this really sounds like fun.

The girls still do that stuff. By now girls can join the Boy Scouts is they want which is cool. We did our popcorn sales in November which for his group helps pays for the cars and some of the rest of the money goes for other things and the community. This is his first year so it’s exciting.

@Hannihar yep! They also accepted gay children. Which I told my husband who goes around asking someone in the Boy Scouts is they like other boys or not. They are there for community work and life skills not learn about each other’s likes in other people.

I’ll definitely write about it. At the scouts so this teacher them how to be good sports win or lose. From what I’ve ready almost everyone walks away with some kind of reward. First rounds are against your own den then those that win in the den races go against the other pack members. It’ll be fun I plan on taking a bunch of picture.
