Are you a determined person? I will give you an example of my situation. I was born and raised in Minneapolis. I lived there until I moved to Israel. I went to Hebrew School after regular school but did not learn much Hebrew. I studied Hebrew before came to live here but it was hard. When I arrived in Hebrew I did not have the Hebrew that they speak here so I had to learn and would not open my mouth for a long time. When I did it started to come out. Now, whenever someone wants to learn English and thinks they can practice on me I tell them Hebrew please. I tell them you tell us we need to learn Hebrew but how can we if you want to speak to us in English. Not all want to learn Hebrew but I have to because I work and deal with Hebrew speakers. So, I continue in Hebrew and eventually they switch back to Hebrew seeing I am determined to learn Hebrew and speak it. How many of you have found that problem where someone want to speak to you in another language and you need to learn their language?

determination for me is not giving up no matter how much I fail. If I gave up I will never ever get far in life.

Judy, I understand that very well. They do that here too. I am determined to continue in Hebrew and most of the time they go back to Hebrew because they see I am serious. So, what did you do when they wanted to practice their English on you and not speak French with you?
