No news is good news, or here I sit again

We were told to go home after Bob's blood draw and wait to see if they wanted us to come back. We have heard nothing. So, his hemoglobin levels must not be too low. Much better to have waited at home and not had to worry about food or being bored. I have done quite a lot online today. Tomorrow is the appointment with the heart doctor. The "second opinion". The fun never ends. I am glad to have read some of your posts. Bob is going to bowl tonight. His urologist has said it would be okay. We shall see. I am going with him, so that will be an hour or two or more I am away. That is so if he needs to go to the ER I will be there to take him and not stuck here with no car on hand to get to him. It will be less stressful that way for me. That is our plan for the evening. How about you?

Oh dear, is it news you can share? I was sad to learn that your mother had passed. We do not keep up with each other well, do we? Bob watches movies not to my taste or interest.

I just sat and watched, tried to read in between things. It just was much less worrisome to be able to see how he was doing.

Oh, how fun. We finished up our pea soup. We have chili, we have turkey with gravy, so it is going to be one of those two tonight.

@GardenGerty Hmmm... turkey. I have an individual Swansons turkey pie in the freezer. Maybe I'll have that for dinner tonight. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, it was fine. He is needing to strengthen his muscles and this way he exercises without thinking about it.

@LadyDuck He is not using a 16 pound, but instead my 12 pound this week. He has used his sixteen some and will likely do so again as he gets stronger. It is good for him.

@GardenGerty This is good if he has been allowed to lift the bowling ball that is about 16 pounds. This is the limit for my husband, no more than 16 pounds, but using both hands.

He did well. Nothing bad. Good friendships that make him smile. Good memories because he has always loved to bowl.

I think the bowling perked him up. It runs late and they did bowl three games, but the exercise is very healthy for him. No ER. Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Veterans Affairs Clinic. Today, a cardiologist.

I hope it was a good night of bowling. I'm glad you didn't get that phone call to go back. Sounds like things are improving. I hope his appointment today is good.

I liked the appointment and we will be switching to this doctor. This cardiologist comes to the clinic where we see our primary care once a month. Otherwise, he is still a half hour closer than the other one, with less traffic. He also is going to check some things out for us. We will still sometimes go to Wichita for " big" stuff, but this will still be more convenient.

@GardenGerty I'm glad things went well and you're switching to him. Being closer and in the same building as your primary is a bonus.

No ER trips, but knowing my luck, if I did not go, he would need to go to the ER. I just blocked that jinx.

He has lost so much muscle mass that he needs to rebuild. I think the urologist mainly wants him to get up and move around more. It is something he loves doing so it helps him mentally. I think walking daily would help him as well.

I only bowl with family and close friends so that I can be pathetic and it does not matter. This is league and I am not on a team. Only eight lanes in this little place.
