Are we there yet? How do you answer that?

On long road trips (or even shorter ones for that matter) kids keep asking "Are we there yet?". If you have 3 more hours, how do you answer the question and keep them entertained?
We play games like "I spy", things spotting and word games.
Any suggestions?

It wasn't a problem when our children were young. They either fell asleep or argued all the way

It's more difficult now. When I was little we would play games like 'I spy' and 'pub legs' but on a modern motorway there is less of interest to see. Of course you get there a bit quicker so I suppose that makes up for it. We also play memory games such as 'I went to the shops and I bought... ' the first person says one thing, for example a bag of oranges, the second person repeats that and adds their own item such as an easy chair, the third person repeats those and adds their own item etc, just keep going as long as you can remember the list! You can make it easier by doing items in alphabetical order (first person buys an avocado, second person buys some biscuits or whatever) and funnier by buying very silly items such as an orangutan in a tutu.

@pitstop I don't know that 'pub legs' would work anywhere except in the UK. One person or team takes each side of the road, and they score whenever they pass a pub with a name which inlcludes legs. For example 'The Queen's head' scores zero, two for 'The Headless Horseman', four for 'The White Hart' (a hart is an old English word for a deer), twelve for 'The Fox and Hounds' (assuming two hounds) etc.
