The Holiday activities has lots of activities like the Christmas parties here and there. But amidst those activities, my father-in-law got very sick because his cancer of the prostate was back again, this time so aggressive. Her daughter came home with her family for the holidays. My daughter too came home. However, it was marred with sadness.because he was most of the time in hospital. And before their flight back to Australia last 11th, he was again back to the hospital . On the 14th, he died. So, now we are having the wake. He will be buried on the 18th. His daughter can't fly back again because her 2 children has no one to attend to them because her husband is in his new job. At least, we told her that she was able to see him alive and that is what's important. He only waited for her daughter to come before he died. At least now, my father-in-law will be where he cannot feel the pain of his cancer.

Indeed. He was so happy seeing the two since my daughter too since having her residency only goes home during Christmas time. Actually, he can hardly see them anymore but he knows their voices. So when they visited at the hospital the moment they arrived., he was so happy.

Thank you. Yes, the daughter cannot come back because she has no one to leave his two children plus, she was already so stressed already.. My husband is okay though sad. He has accepted the fact even before he started seeing his father deteriorated that sooner or later he will pass away.

The most important thing was that he could see his daughter and that she could see her father. We can mourn anywhere. RIP

That is very, very sad but such a blessing that the father, daughter and grandchildren were able to meet before he passed away.

@sunrisefan Yes. I think most people whose loved ones is suffering from illness that makes them bed ridden or excruciate in pain, would just pray that he better be taken by God already.

@SIMPLYD When things like that happen to an ailing family member, you'd rather see him go so there would be no more pain.

Yes, you are so right. Actually, he relied on their voices only because his eyes can hardly see when he had the cancer again.

Thank you. Indeed, what mattered was that he was able to at least hear their voices to recognize them (he cannot see much anymore) when he was at the hospital.

@SIMPLYD Thats how I felt about my dad. He had so many things starting to just wear out that he was no longer comfortable. Not really in pain, but not comfortable either.
