I Have Not Been A Good Grandma Tonight

Okay it is not like I have starved my Grand kids or anything like that. No Beatings for the little stinkers either. Shawnee (daughter) is old enough to fend for herself . I hurt my back earlier , believe it or not while doing some laundry. I just haven't felt like cooking this evening so... One had wanted TV dinners so he ate 2 of them. The other wanted a Baloney Sandwich well she had that and then ate a TV dinner as well (Growth Spurt I am thinking). I know I should have cooked but I just haven't felt like it. So tell me do you ever feel guilty when slacking off by letting the kids eat easy stuff? I kind of feel bad because Mattie is going to have to fend for herself when she gets home from work.

We all have days like that and I try to forgive myself when I do because they happen rarely. For instance today I felt bad because I'm sick and I had the kids doing more chores than usual since I couldn't. But, they were so good about it because they knew I needed the help. So, my advice to you is forgive yourself and move forward because I'm sure they are okay and not upset by it. =)

When I was a working mom, I pretty much had to let the kids eat easy stuff. Food that cooked quickly, anyway. It took awhile to get home from work and when I got there they were like little baby birds with mouths open. I couldn't stop to feel guilty or I'd be consumed by it.

Oh I remember those working mom days all to well . My hubby would let the kids destroy the house so I still had to take care of all that and cook when I got home from work.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with tv dinners or bologna sandwiches for a meal.. Thats what they're for. And have been that way for YEARS. So I hope the guilt is gone by now.

Until they were not left hungry and had something to eat I don't think that is much of a problem..we all are allowed to do it once on a while.
