Rules: Always follow them or have the courage to break them sometimes?

Rules have been made to be fulfilled, but are there not some (or rather many) that should be broken? There are rules for all kinds of issues, but not always the people who create and sanction them is right and that is why many of them need (and should) be disobeyed. I know this all generates a lot of confusion and death (and the story is there to prove it), but what would become of us if we all complied with the rules with closed eyes without questioning them?

Depends on the rule or law. Not all rules or laws are just and should be changed or not followed as long as they aren't harming anyone while breaking it. This is a conversation/argument my boyfriend and I have a lot since he is becoming a police officer. He believes in just up holding all laws because they are laws and they shouldn't be changed or that there isn't nothing he can do to change it. But I believe in doing what is morally right no matter the law or rule. I mean there were tons of laws in the US that weren't morally right and we may have gotten to changing them fast if the people upholding the law would stand with us when it is wrong. They should protect and serve and not all the laws they up hold go with that. The US still has laws that are unjust that were years ago (like several decades old) that aren't necessarily used or people are stopped for but since they are still there a few legal cases have used that law made in 1820 ( just a made up year) and won the case even though it doesn't fit with our times anymore.

I generally obey the rules unless there are no rules or it is open to interpretation.

I'm a rule follower for the most part, but if it is a better, safer, and more intelligent way to do something without anyone getting hurt, I will break a rule now and then!

@WiseGhots I live here in Israel and they make rules but there are those that do not follow them and do what they want to do and do not care about others. I try to follow the rules but do not always succeed.

There are times rules need to be broken but knowing when is not easy.
