Seeing Gabriel Iglesias. "Fluffy"

On Monday, the 14th of January, I went to see Gabriel Iglesias. He is doing a world tour at the moment and he was so funny. He is also a very humble guy. For those who don't know him, he is a comedian who goes by the nickname "Fluffy." He calls himself that because he is a big guy. As he says ""Oh, I'm not fat, I'm fluffy." Though when he came on stage I could see he has lost a lot of weight. There is so much I could say but my words will not do his stand up any justice. It was a "you had to be there" kind of thing. But a few things I will tell you is that he does an amazing Aussie accent So many comedians who tour Australia try the Aussie accent but Gabriel did a really good job. He also did our accent speaking Spanish and I tell ya....that was amazing to me! It may seem simple lol but I have wondered often what certain accents sound like in different languages and this was so awesome. He had so many interesting and funny stories to tell. He stayed way longer than he should have. At the end people were yelling out for him to tell some stories that he has told before and he did. But it was so special because a huge majority of the audience were telling the story with him. Shouting out every line and all the quotes. Gabriel said "You guys don't even need me." He took it as a huge compliment that so many people knew his routine from such a long time ago. Then what made my heart melt was everyone giving him a standing ovation. He was very touched but he was even more touched when a woman at the very front stood up from her wheelchair. She had someone helping her but she still stood to clap. He was so touched, bent down to shake her hand and told her that she was welcome to come back stage to have a proper meet and greet. Which I found really sweet. I didn't get to meet him but I bought a poster that he had signed before the show.

I have never heard of Fluffy, but I love comedians so I will have to look him up. I'm sure he has some of his stuff posted on YouTube. One of the things I love about going to see comedians perform is that it takes you away from the stresses of life for a couple of hours, and lets you laugh to your heart's content. It also helps you learn to laugh at many of life's serious moments.

@VivaLaDani13 One of the things I love about most comedians is that they take real situations in life, and put a humorous touch to it. We sit in the audience and laugh, and agree with the comedian as he's making fun of us for things. And deep down we know we are guilty of doing the very things they make fun of, yet we still laugh as the comedian makes fun of us. At the end of the day, I hope it makes people think and realize that life doesn't have to be so serious and stressful all the time. We should be laughing at ourselves more often!

@moffittjc So true! I absolutely agree with you. I forgot to add Ellen DeGeneres on the list. She is also good at poking fun at what we all tend to do. I'm sure there has been plenty but has there ever been a joke about what we all do that REALLY related to you? I know there would be a lot but there was one thing in particular Ellen mentioned that I really related to and didn't really think anyone else did. But there have been times where I lay down to sleep and I remember I have to do something the next day. Instead of getting up to write a note for myself I think what I need to do over and over and over and over again in my head. Hoping that the thought will be there for when I wake up. When I heard Ellen joking about it I laughed so much and found it great to know I wasn't the only one.

@moffittjc He has a lot on YouTube. I think it was YouTube where I found him by mistake. Or maybe Facebook....was somewhere. But I'm glad I found him either way. I love comedians too. My favourites are Fluffy, Billy Connolly, Jerry Seinfeld, Ricky Gervais and I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting right now. And I agree with you. They deserve more respect I think because they do make us laugh and just relax for awhile.

@Sheali It was really awesome. Such a wonderful night. And nah not really. Only posters I really like to collect are Michael Jackson ones. I have a few small ones with other things I'm a fan of but other than that I don't collect posters. But I really wanted this one because I'm a fan of Fluffy and it's signed. It's more special.
