Have you dropped food on the ground or floor and picked it up to eat?

I am watching a show called How I met your mother and someone just dropped food on the ground and looked around to see who was watching so if he wants to pick it up. So how many of you are very hungry and want to pick up what you dropped and want to eat it?

I heard about it, 3 or 5 sec rule I think. But there was an episode on Mythbusters about it and it doesn't matter how long it lays on the ground, it will develop bacteria anyway. What matters, but just a little, is how moist the food and the surface are.

@Ladanger Good for you. I think picking up food from the ground you never know where it was after you dropped it and throwing it out is a good idea.

I think most of us are blessed and may not pick the food fallen on ground. But I do understand whoever done it, the hungry is something like that which can force us to pick the food from ground in case we don't have no other food available at that time.

@Hannihar If one really want to pick up the food then why look around. If I am in that place, I don't look any one

@Sreekala I see what you are saying but regular people drop food too and look around to see who is watching them before they decide to pick up the food and eat it or not.

No, even as clean as I keep my floors, they aren't meant to be dishes.

I think that depends a lot on what the food is and how clean the floor is. If my cleaner had just been earlier in the day and washed the floor and I dropped something when I was cooking, I 'might' pick it up and chuck it back in the pan.

@boiboing I can see that if the floor is clean.

@PrincessREL Thanks and I saw the show a long long time ago and never saw who his wife turned out to be and now it is on Netflix and I love it. Good for you for not wanting to eat the food that dropped.

It depends on the food and the floor/ground. But no, it's better to throw it away .
