Laundry Alternative!

Frugal Tip: Stop using your energy-sucking dryers! Seriously, though, I have this amazing little machine that spin dries your clothes in 2-3 minutes and when you hang up your clothes to dry completely dry inside it only takes a couple hours. It's called the Nino Soft from The Laundry Alternative website. Since I'm not in United States I ordered mine through Amazon but I think American can get them directly from their site free shipping. It's under $100 plus 3 year warranted. We rent a small apartment with a common laundry area and they really charge a lot to use their machines. I think we were paying about $60 per month to do our laundry properly. Way. Too. Much. Anyone else uses one of these?

I know such a thingy. My mother used to have one. Yes, it is convenient. I have a spare room where I put my washing on a rack. It only needs some hours to dry.

My washing machine has a 1600 RPM spin so it leaves clothes pretty dry.

I have never heard of this. Does it cause a lot of wear and tear on your clothing? Last spring I was using the clothes line but I noticed that hanging out clothing outside was causing a lot of fading to our items. That was not good for me so I stopped and went back to the dryer!

Many people swear that it's really good, gentle on the clothes. Saves energy costs too as it doesn't use heating. I have indoor drying racks to hang them up or simply change the clothes on hangers they typically take about 2 hours to dry and doesn't drip water on the floor.

@BridgetThompson about 5 small loads per week avg but that's because I wash by hand until we move and have out own washing machine

@Masihi That sounds very interesting. How many loads of laundry do you think you have to do per week?

Wish I could convince hubby to air dry, or even to run laundry properly would help. He washes all different weights together and throws them in the dryer on HOT. He is not allowed to do my laundry.

My husband is a terrible laundry-er. He put all colours in and makes the lighter clothes all dingey-looking. I hand-wash our laundry before I put it into the spin dryer. Men!!!

That's pretty cool. But my apartment have energy-savor washing machines and dryers though. As for the machines, mine's about 1.25 to wash, 1.00 to dry. I reload my laundry card every month. I probably can't afford it with my budget.

Wow we were paying at least double, and for 5 people!!! Plus the baby's laundry needs to be washed separately so we would have ended up having to spend upwards of $70 per mins instead of $60.
