This my friend used to come to take my motor bike out to where ever he want to go to without buying any patrol to top it up. Today he comes and i told him that there is no patrol in it unless he buys patrol if not it cannot take him to the place he want to go. He just told me '' ok am coming'' he left and more than 3 hours now he is not coming back. Now ,is that how we should behave towards each other as friends? He don't want to use his money to buy patrol for the motto bike but like to be riding. Is it how we should behave?

See, even if it is your friend, you should not allow any one to take unfair advantage of you.. Good you asked him to pay this time

It's not only the petrol you take into account, you also have to consider the mileage, oil, engine and tire parts, the wear and tear, plus if it's involved in an accident or illegal activity you will be implicated. I do not lend personal things to friends except on emergencies, I also do not borrow from friends, if its for hire I pay rent. If I do not have an Item I work and save to buy for myself and my family.

Well... if he is a real friend, he should be back with the gasoline. These things are very common though, we all have that friend that likes tom use us a little . Guess you need to put some boundaries .

Give him at least some hours. How much distance is the petrol pump? If he is your real friend, then he will come back with gasoline for sure. Otherwise not. This situation helps you to know more about your friend. Afterall a friend is need in a friend indeed.

As much as we would like to be kind, sharing, and all that but sometimes we really have to say no. Maybe give him a time limit next time or else he's not touching the bike anymore.

Sometimes, too much of everything is bad, so you don't have to be too kind again.

@wunnam So did you pay for the petrol and when did he finally come back with it? That does not sound like a friend.

Like that he is using you and not being a good friend.

Make him pay you before he takes it next time.
