So Noisy

There is so much noise today that I cannot concentrate.
The guy next door must be building a stairway to heaven. One thing on top of another, sheds, porches, decks, and who knows? The power saw is feet from my desk and sounds like a lumber mill.
Someone is playing jazz in the pavilion just yards from my place. The guy across the street is blasting rock and roll from his car radio.
Last, but not least, there is an unholy racket going on at the railroad a block and a half away.
It is frigidly cold here and I am wishing I was on a warm sunny island with the gentle waves sweeping over my feet as I walk and search for interesting things that the tide brought in.

Dang that's a lot of noise all around you, my day is going good. Sitting in my living room and all I hear is the furnace running and drinking my coffee.

@hillhjill I am in Florida where it should be warm and sunny. But it isn't. Maybe I should hitchhike south.

I wouldn't be able concentrate if I was surrounded by so much noise. We got two new neighbors a few months ago and they are both renovating their houses at the moment. We can hear the noise inside our house, but right now it is late and they are quiet.
I have had a good day. It snowed, but it isn't too bad, and I hope that won't be a problem to drive tomorrow. We want to visit some friends who live in another city.

@akalinus Fortunately it wasn't as bad as I expected. Most of the snow had disappeared, so it wasn't hard to drive. But you are right, it is important to be safe. Snow and ice cause accidents sometimes, and it is not fun to get stuck in the snow. We have tried that in the past.

I'm sorry for you. I know what it is like. I stayed with my son at times. The people above him sounded like they were having bowling tournaments and furniture throwing contests all night long. Did they ever sleep? And the apartment next to him had a dog that moaned all night and parrots that never stopped squawking. Having inconsiderate neighbors is not fun.

That is horrible. I wonder if that guy ever sleeps. I have been here a long time but does not matter because he does what he wants. He makes noise all night long. I have white noise machines but it seems like I still hear him. He is a real jerk and am afraid he will not leave because he knows he can bother me. He jointed all the others that put stuff in the bomb shelter and he messes with my sign outside and if I do something he will rip it down like he did once before. I have no one to help me because they think he is great but I know otherwise.

That could be really annoying. Here at this moment there is pin drop silence. The birds too are nowhere to been seen or heard.

@allknowing I don't mind 'white noise' like a fan or something. But noise here makes me crazy some days. I hate it.

I am trying to do an archeology course that is free online. Study does not mix well with noise. Today, the material was new to me. They used some Greek letters and equations which did not thrill me so I had to go to the videos and explanations and try to get them straight in my mind.
