Surprise Visitor Yesterday

When we got home from our swim class yesterday, I got a text from my granddaughter Amie asking is she and her friend could spend the night with us!! Seriously, asking a grandma if she wants a visit. Of course I said yes, yes, yes.
We went out to our favorite Italian restaurant for lunch and got some pizza to go to have for dinner. The girls were delighted.
This morning I made gingerbread pancakes which were another hit. We only had them until 11 am and then they were heading off to Tallahassee. They are driving from Miami to Austin, Texas where my granddaughter will be working. They will be spending Sunday night in New Orleans.
I am such a lucky grandma. The picture is Amie and her dog Addie.

@BelleStarr she doesn't look 23 at all. She probably hates that she looks so young but when she gets older she'll appreciate it LOL

Yes for six months or so but she will be home in Connecticut for the summer. She is looking for a new Master's Program.

@LadyDuck Yes I did, she stopped by last winter when we were down here, then she was headed to Miami.

She was happy to have a comfortable bed to sleep in rather than her car, she has slept in her car on many occasions.

@BelleStarr she should be careful sleeping on the car; Do not have the air conditioners running for so long because it can cause suffocation.

She is a very loving granddaughter even though she is not as close to us as to her other grandmother, I told her about alpha grandparents and she laughed, she realizes the truth of it.

I never had a grandmother so I vowed early to be the best grandma that I could be and make memories with my grandchildren, I think I have succeeded.

I know I miss seeing yours too but I understand needing to take a break from it, I have had to put a few people on rest when they just got too much for me to handle and I don't want to unfriend people.

@BelleStarr I was going to disable it but I didn't want to lose the games I was playing with some so I downloaded my games to my tablet and don't even have to log on to fb now. Hopefully I will be back soon.

The mix was from Stonewall Kitchen and you just add milk and eggs. It really is delicious.

Wednesday my brother and his wife are spending the day with us and Thursday night my daughter, her husband and three of their boys will be here for 4 days, I am beside myself with happy!!
