Have you ever looked though the myLot directory looking for new members to discuss things with? I have done this just now and find there are very many people who just do not have a bio. Sad, really. If you want to reach out here at myLot, you will have more positive results if you let others have some idea who you are and what you are about. Just my 2 cents.

I would have to say it is the right of every member to choose to either give out some bio or not but just as long as it is not fake news bio.

I know someone who joined recently and he doesn't have a bio. Should I tell him?

I don't know. Because those who come here and are very new, may not have what it takes to put forth a real good effort. If they want to make good use of their time, they really need to understand the importance of providing some sort of background of interests, their basic information like age and so forth to make it worth their time and other's time. It can't hurt. The basic thing is for any new member of myLot to read the rules and follow them. Look at other members' posts and take note of the fact that most of the ones that really do put out the effort, don't mind providing some sort of tangible information in their profile just to be real.

If for some reason a time traveler or space traveler came here to myLot to post a discussion I would certainly not want to know where they came from. In some cases those little green men or ET guys should remain incognito.

I don't mind about it. I think it best to form my own opinion of what the person is posting and how he/she interacts.

Well, I have had discussions with some who have no bio but I usually enjoy it more when I have some idea who I am talking to even online. When you have several hundred names to look at and chose from, it does help when a personal bio is provided and of course, sure, people get to know more about you if you post discussions and go from there. I would not personally start a conversation with a complete stranger unless we were properly introduced to each other. That is a fundamental thing with everybody in the real word. So even in cyberspace, online, with avatars representing ourselves to others, some kind of introduction is best to get things started in my opinion.

@WiseGhots , I am glad. Sometimes I come across like I think I know more than other people but I just like to write long paragraphs.

i shrug it off if they leave it blank. some don't even want to use an avatar, or put their country. but if you observe them long enough, their discussions, responses and comments eventually reveals a lot.
