Gilette Ad controversy

Have you seen controversial Gillette ad that has polarized a lot of people? My view is the aim of the add is not to cause controversy for it’s own sake, but to get their name in the news cheaply through the controversy. It wins over a large sector of men (their target market), may disenfranchise some women, and a small % of men but they get the opportunity on talk shows and entertainment news to explain that promoting misogyny was not there intention and “why”. The add is carefully crafted to be open to interpretation and provide the narrative for the “why”. What are your thoughts? Do you think its funny or offensive?

I remember hearing about it. IF it is the one that I recall, where it sort of labeled all men as pigs (in general terms), abusive, overbearing, whatever...I find it extremely offensive. It's just another play on this liberal idea that all men are animals who simply want to lay everything in sight, be overbearing, insensitive, cheaters and whatever else you want to add to that. It's bullshit. Pure and simple.
