So I been using my homemade laundry soap for about a week now, and must say that i'm pleasantly surprised at the results. My clothes are no longer stiff, but they come out soft. It cleans just as well as store-bought brands. Very gentle on the skin (anyone with sensitive skin can use Fels-Naptha, Zote, or Castile soap). Texture will take time getting used to, it looks like a sickly yellow glop that's thinner than commercial brands. I have to stir it often as it tends to gel up a wee bit but that's not an issue, it's very easy, a quick vigourous stir and a shake will do the trick. It has no scent whatsoever, which is excellent for anyone who is sensitive to smells. Adding essential oils for scents is optional. I didn't add any scent to mine as I am constantly in and out of scent-free-policy places so it works out for the best for our family.
