Do you have a close relationship with your distant relatives?

When we grew up, we tended to leave our homes to build our lives and with that, we ended up having to move away from many of our relatives.
In this way, many of us end up losing the closest contact with them and this ends up moving us further away from them. Then, a physical distance is created, which is often even unwanted but necessary.
If this happens to you... How do you handle it? Or, what would be the advice to anyone who goes through it?

Some I do and some I don't! I'm fine with the relationships that I have because they are the people that have wanted to stay in my life.

some..i talk to maybe 6 or 7 cousins out of 400.
and no,that's not an exaggeration.one branch of my family had 14 kids that had about 14 each.

Neither one of us keep in contact, with many of our relatives. The distant relatives, we get a Christmas card sometimes, but that's all. At times, I call my only living Aunt, but now she has Alzheimer's and doesn't know me.

@WiseGhots Our siblings are always trying to pick a fight. We refuse to fight, with anyone of them.

We do miss some of our distant relatives and stay in touch by phone when we can. Other distant relatives are a pain in the butt and we're glad they're a long way away!
