Decided on pinto beans with bacon in the crock pot. They sure smell good. Lots of juice for the mashed potatoes and cornbread to soak up. Comfort food in the cold weather. Some may think it sounds like a strange combination but you should try it sometimes. Every time I use my Grandmother's iron skillet for cornbread I am transported back in time to her kitchen. What great memories. Have a good evening everyone. Stay warm for those in the snow and cold. Special evening or dinner plans?

I had planned to make shrimp scampi, but hubs didn't want me to cook. I think he heard me mumbling under my breath about having to cook on a Sunday, so he went out and got dinner. . I'm about to have it any minute.

i surly love beans and corn bread. but we had fried taters with them daughter don't make them because of the gas they give us. but i am thinking we get a lot of gas with our touchy stomachs here anyway,

I'd love some pinto beans/bacon, mashed potatoes, and corn bread! That's a delicacy at our house:) My mom and grandma always baked corn bread, in an iron skillet!

If I liked beans, it sounds like it would be very good! We got a bigger crockpot, so can't wait to use it sometime soon!
