centuries ago, the great philosopher Descartes proposed the idea that our entire reality is just a simulation. Descartes believed that a so called, "evil genius" tapped into our spinal cord and is taking the information from your brain and runs it into a machine which mimics the expectations of our reality and how the simulation will respond. It's like Alice in wonderland who disappear down a rabbit hole where she experience reality in absurdness? Or the man who dream he was a butterfly but after awaking wonder if it was a butterfly dreaming it was a man. Perhaps starring at a Dali surrealist painting could be more enlightening about the world we "exist" in.
