Snow day

Due to the amount of snow that we are getting, the schools and daycares are closed. The school board sent out emails and notifications last night, letting us know about it. Although it had only just started to snow last night, I guess they wanted to be on the safe side, not take any chances, and just call it a snow day. At least for today. And honestly, I'm kind of glad. I'm looking at the snow we have this morning, and I'm kind of glad schools and daycares are closed. It would have been a nightmare getting my girls to the bus stop and my little guy to daycare. It just wouldn't have been worth it. It won't necessary be easy, especially since my husband works night and will be sleeping, while the kids are home. But such is life. Hopefully I can manage to keep them as quiet as possible. I can hope. Either way, better keep them home and safe.

Your poor husband needs to sleep during the day, I imagine it's pretty hard to keep your kids quiet.

Yes, he definitely does have to sleep. Hopefully, he'll be able. It's not always easy to keep them quiet all the time, but they can be quiet sometimes

@LadyDuck Yes, it isn't always easy for kids. They just want to play, have fun, and sometimes fight.

@dodo19 My grandparents lived with us, I remember when we were kids that my mom told us all the time to keep quiet and do not make noises, it was hard.

I also received a text that my old school system was closed. The safety of students and staff is imperative. I hope you feel well enough to take care of the kids.

I don't think it was too easy to get to work, but thankfully he works indoors. I'm thankful he got a lift back. The snowstorm ended last night. So, I think we're in the clear. At least for now.

For us, it is rare that schools are closed. I think this time it's just because we're getting so much snow at one time. We don't usually get so much in one shot.

Our schools were closed there too. The roads were treacherous. Hope you enjoyed your snow day with the kids.

It was pretty fun. Although I am kind of glad they were at school and daycare today. There were a few fights, but it was still nice not to have to worry about drop offs and pick ups and such.

The snow began here (new Brunswick) about 45 minutes ago. When I first looked out of the window, a few fluffy flakes were drifting down. Now, the snow is coming down a a much faster rate. The wind from the east is blowing it down the street. We'll see what the day brings.

It's good that the notice came in time, in our country it's hard to be updated about class suspension

Yes, it came in time. It was actually early. I wasn't expecting it before this morning, but we got it last night. Hopefully things change for you so that you guys can get these notices more easily.
