Never heard of such a day lol... it might be simply because I made it up. ;) We have left-over pizza from last night and I am cataloguing ever grandparent I own... I just found one that is my 11th great grandfather. I think that is as far back as I have managed to get so I thought that it was time to start sorting. I want to fill in some of the holes before I go any farther!! So here's your question... how many grandparents have you found so far and what's for lunch?

I haven't done anything with my family tree, but another member of the family has. I think I can now go three generations back on my father's side, and I only know the last names for my mother's where I can go one generation beyond my grandparents.

That's pretty good. There are some lines that pretty much fell into my lap and others that won't for the life of them give me any help!!

Someone else has catalogued our family tree and written a book but it's very expensive.

Kind of takes all of the fun out of it lol... but I can understand why it is so expensive. I have no idea how many hours I have spent on it, but it's hours and hours and hours... and nothing. It all depends on the person you are researching. Some lines are incredibly easy while others, you hope you never meet when you get to heaven lol!!

I have found many many grandparents, on my French side I can go the farthest back in one case to the 1300s. But on the Irish it is 1830s on one line and 1790s on another. English side some in the 1600s some late 1700s.

@Hate2Iron I have quite a few of the filles du roi, we all do and your right it is exciting. I have the book with the little histories of all the girls but it is at home. There are two volumns and then one book of the filles a marier, the ones who came even before les filles du roi. What is the name of yours?

I have a ton of French Canadian grandparents that I'm trying to sort through. I have found a Filles du Roi... I was hoping, and then found one!! Talk about a street urchin becoming famous lol! I think that she was the one that got me soooo excited about stories!!

Yesterday we brought home a pizza for today's lunch or supper so go us! A relative of mine is doing research on my Mom's family so I know quite a bit about her. My Dad's grandma left us handwritten pages on that part of the family- a treasure for sure.

Oh that is a treasure. My granddad wrote us letters, but I lost them all in a fire!! He was quite the character... I think I mentioned earlier about him falling out of a tree and breaking his neck... only to recover as if nothing had happened!! That was my Granddad for you lol!!

An uncle and aunt did some family tree info and went back five. I am planning to go further and work on my maternal side which I have not much info. Lunch was a piece of baked chicken.

@Hate2Iron I love learning about the past with my family. Tonight I think I'll start the maternal side and make notes to plug in.

It took me a while, but I still have 2 lines that I can't get beyond the third generation. I have a grandmother who liked to change her name every couple of years. There are times when I could strangle the woman lol! The other line... I just thought of something that I haven't tried... fingers crossed!!

Not a big sea food fan, but everyone else in the family is!! As for your family tree... I'm still waiting to see if I have any Italian blood... Took the DNA test and nothing so far. But where there is smoke... there is fire. ;) Same goes for Japanese blood!!!

We just bought some English Muffins today. Hate when we run out!! Your tree is waiting for you to fill in some stories lol. My grandmother on my mom's side... loved the Charleston!! Would have loved to have seen her dance... My grandmother on dad's side I only got to know when we moved closer. She loved Strawberry Shortcake...and passed that down to me lol. That is now my birthday cake each year!! My Grandfather on dad's side passed on his sweet tooth to me. Whenever he came to visit he would bring a suitcase full of candy nestled among his clothes! He once fell out of a tree and broke his neck... but he recovered nicely. There was no holding him down. Can you tell why I love adding stories to my tree lol... they all have a story to share!!

That's nice, tracing your family tree. I haven't allotted time doing it, but my relatives had made one and it is fun seeing who the grandparents are.

I have done some research on family but not much, and I don't eat lunch so I'm not having anything.
