Biscuits and Leftovers

Having leftover pork ribs and biscuits for dinner. I added small red potatoes to the ribs and gravy as well. Now I need to go get the biscuits in the oven. Biscuits are such a comfort food in my opinion. I could eat them any time of the day. Melted butter. Yum, good stuff. I remember my dear Grandmother used to make whole wheat biscuits. She used what we called brown (whole wheat) flour and they were very good. I remember asking her, are you making brown biscuits today? Great memories. Enjoy your evening everyone.

I guess that is what Grandmother's do! I sometimes use refrigerated for dumplings if I'm in a hurry.

I'm glad you have such sweet memories. I use whole wheat flour for everything from cakes to biscuits. Really, none of it is heavy in texture. My biscuits are not gigantic but eat!

@CarolDM I will always wonder what life was like for my Mom in her final years- what is life like when your memories are gone? Basics like knowing that giving a gift to someone will make them happy- gone. What was that like? Floating, perhaps?

I could not live without my memories Lenore. Just couldn't. Whole wheat is the best but I don't use it like she did. And I agree, it is no heavier to use this flour than white flour.

Your dinner sounds good. My dad use to make the best biscuits. Sadly I never got the recipe from him. I make biscuits but they are just not the same as dad's were.

Delicious, some things are better the next day it seems. He probably didn't even have a recipe. A lot of times they just cooked, no recipes. But you have the memories. I cannot duplicate my Grandmother's biscuits but can come close.
