While everyone is complaining of the surge in the prices gasoline and LPG and the unending rise in electric power bill, some people in the barrios still use this crude cooking implement using cut branches from trees as firewood. Isn't it economical?

I like to have my own wood oven someday and an outdoor grill... I love cooking using those rather than LPG or electric stove.

Some foods taste better when cooked in dirty kitchen. Had you tried cooking homemade ham with lots of caramel? This is best cooked in dirty kitchen.

@wolfgirl569 I guess so because most urban centers do not encourage this. The smoke is not good for the environment, and the cutting of trees is prohibited.

You are right, like when cooking adobo, it's best to cook the meat in high fire.

It is economical, but extremely polluting, this is why this is forbidden here.
