Well here it is. It turns out my husband chose the emerald ring rather than the ruby for my Valentine’s Day gift. I’m very pleased, but could kick myself. I should have realized at the time I tried it on that it was too big, but my excitement got in the way.
So, we will go to get it sized at the jeweler. When, I do not know. My husband is leaving shortly to spend time helping a friend.
We had a very nice dinner, but went with another couple. She is our friend who is battling cancer. Several weeks ago she asked if we could go out with her and her husband for Valentine’s Day. I mentioned we had made plans in December for our favorite steakhouse, but my hubs called the restaurant and was able to change our seating from 2 to 4. Yay!
Tonight is our weekly date night. I’m looking forward to trying a new seafood restaurant that my husband discovered through one of the guys at the pool. I will save my Valentine’s chocolates for another day. I have been eating way too much this week.

@DianneN Bon appetite and enjoy! We have had the family here and had roast lamb! They went around an hour and half ago. I am shattered as I have been up since 5 AM so won't belong until I hit the pillows!

Thank you! I'm very pleased with the ring. It's now at the jeweler's to be resized, and I won't see it again for a week. 
My friend is returning to New York at the end of the month for one week. She has many doctor appointments, and then will return to FL. She isn't the type to whine and complain, but doesn't seen herself.

@DianneN - It sounds like you have been having a wonderful time! I have mostly been off MyLot lately. Too much going on in my life, including visits from our daughters and grandchildren because of my husband's declining health. However, regardless of everything else, we have been enjoying the family time. Two of our daughters and three of our grandkids are at Disneyland right now!

@DianneN - Hi Dianne. Yes, I feel a little overwhelmed and there is a lot of uncertainty right now about my husband's health. It is hard to fiddle much on MyLot when so much is going on. Sorry. I didn't mean to just disappear, but I don't know how much I will be here in coming weeks.

@DeborahDiane Don't you worry about us. Just take care of your husband and enjoy your time together. I'd do the exact same thing. I will miss you, but real life comes first. Stop by when you need a shoulder to lean on, and message me if you show up!

@Shiva49 You may have missed a few such as my brother being hospitalized, a friend deceiving us, our son having difficulty finding a house, Doodles developing serious heart disease, his sister dying of cancer, and my granddaughter breaking her ankle in 6 places during off ice practice..........

I'm happy that you were able to have the extra seating at the restaurant you like so your friends could come with. Emerald is a favorite of mine , I love that ice cube look in the center. Ah, at least sizing is a simply procedure

@DianneN That's wonderful. I love seafood. And we have a lot of good seafood restaurants here. The only problem is my husband doesn't like seafood. So I just usually go with my friends.

You were right! It was good spending time with them. She doesn't seem to be doing well, yet she plays tennis a few times a week and wants to go walking with me next week. I will do that for her, even if it means a much slower walk. At least we can walk and talk.
