I spent my Valentine's Day in a Nursing Home in place of a Restaurant

That's true guys, we came back Tuesday night and spent sometime having rest on 13th. Then we decided to have our lunch in a restaurant but our car would not start due to low battery. I started my motorbike somehow and we started for our lunch. But we moved maybe 100 yards and three stray dogs followed us. I thought it will be okay so I slowed down a bit but kept riding. Suddenly one of the dogs jumped and bit me on my bum. I was panicked and drove to the nearest nursing home. As usual, I was prescribed the anti rabies course of 5 injections over the next 28 days starting from Thursday. Do you remember any such funny/sad incident while you were going out to have some fun guys?

I think such unexpected incidents take us completely off guard but these are part of the life.

Very true, and the problem is that local governing bodies are not taking care of this problem. Thanks.

@skysnap That's right, I wanted to shoot at least one of those three dogs but they are still around and I can't do nothing to them. I have informed the municipal corporation though.

@suni51 even bigger problem is that there is a new rule that we can't kill dogs anymore.. only sterilization..and even if dog bites they dont take it in shelter... this is what is going on in pune..dogs are literally attacking.. i live in fear at my place.

That must have been frightful. How can I ever forget that accident way back on Valentine's Day 2006?

When I was aorund 6 years old, I was a climbing tree. Then, when I went down from this tree, I was bitten by a dog.

Years ago I felt a bump and turned around to see a stray dog. Many were sure it was a rabid dog. Since I had no wounds, I did nothing. It was a very uncertain few months later! siva

You never know. In fact, the symptoms could be visible even after 10-20 years in form o hydrophobia which is a complicated disease.

@suni51 This happened nearly fifty years ago. It was certainly not a wise decision on my part though - siva

@Shiva49 I know it happens if the dog has rabies but one should never take chances. But yes, we were not as informed about such things 50 years ago.
