The animals are strange today.

It is twelve degrees or so. Princess wanted out, for the first time in days. She lay on a wooden plant stand on the east side of the house for about a half hour. I took seed out to put in my bird feeder stands. I put about three coffee mugs out each time I do this. The birds usually all head away when I am outdoors. Today, a wren spotted me putting seed out. It came to the lattice panels not two feet from me, looked at me, and then hopped in the feeding tray. It picked up half a shelled peanut. It looked too big for him. I am really startled that he came that close to me, deliberately. When Princess came in she has been cuddly in her way. She actually prefers firm surfaces, not laps. She has been all over the computer desk. She did let me comb her thoroughly with the flea comb. She cannot seem to get comfortable. I am wondering if there is more bad weather coming our way.

Maybe. I often feel like the cardinals come and look in the front window to see if I am coming out.

I love it when a little bird trusts you enough to get close to you.

Yes. It is a great feeling. I have so enjoyed being at home this winter and feeding the birds, plus an occasional squirrel.

I think the birds are quite hungry, the weather has been cold and the ground has had things covering up any berries and seeds. They have gotten used to me providing.

Poor bird, she must have been very hungry. It sounds like maybe there is some bad weather headed in your directions. Animals are pretty good weather predictors.

I should watch the birds when they say its gonna be cold. I usually watch for ants, when cold is headed this way or weeks of rain I see them inside and a millions mounds in the yard.

Plant mint around your foundation and in your yard. Throw out orange peels too.

The animals are live in its own habitat. So they are very close to nature.
