Repair or buy a new one?

When one of your objects breaks (a television, a refrigerator, a cell phone or a air conditioning for example) do you prefer to repair or buy a new one?
For some people this like a dilemma, but for me... It's pretty easy to solve. If I have money to buy a new one, I buy ... if I do not have it, I'd rather fix it (until I can buy a new one if I have to).

I don't want to waste, if we can fix it by ourselves, then we will do so. Anyway it won't make more damages to it and it is worth to have a try. If we can't fix it, then I will see whether the repair fee is high. If it is reasonable, then I don't mind getting it fixed outside.

It depends what it is usually. My laptop screen busted and my plan is to get the screen replaced. My husband said just buy a new one when we have the money. I love that laptop though and would rather just fix it.

I had someone come fix my washer once. My cell phone could not be fixed so had to get a new one. I have no choice but if something cannot be fixed I have to get a new one.

Yeah. But I think some people are too lazy for that.

For small devise, it might be worth to buy a new one.
However, it is great to repair ourself if there is solution available online or else seek help from technician. Practical knowledge is quite important when come to here as we can get it from our academic study.
If the faulty devise is not able to repair then it is wise to buy a new one based on individual financial constraint.

depends on what it is,how old it is,what's wrong with it.
somethings after a certain amount of time are too outdated, energy wasters,or not worth fixing in general.

I would prefer repairing. But I do not have thé skills and it is expensive to pay someone. So I mostly do without until I have the money to replace.
I used to have many things cluttering up my home because I hoped they would get repaired one day.
My husband is pretty handy so he does repair quite a few things.

If it is still okay and only small problem then I will bring it to repair but if it is old and useless so I will just buy a new one.

We are terrible about fixing things! Neither of us have a talent for it, so unless someone is around that does, we often find it easier to just buy a new one!

It depends on how bad is the condition. If it is still repairable and doesn't cost a lot to have it repaired, I will have it repaired.

Depends on if it still has a warranty. Many times you can buy a new one for the same price as repairing the old one.

When my husband was alive and we lived in Latvia he was always able to fix broken appliances because he knew about electricity. Now I don't need very many appliances but if one would break I would first find out what cost more to fix it or to get a new one.

Fix can be a great option too (and pretty funny sometimes).
