Every time I go to Bali, I always take the time to watch traditional Balinese dances. And one of the famous traditional dances of Bali Island is Barong Dance. To watch this dance is not expensive, only around 100,000 rupiah or around 8USD. Oh yes, we will also get a guide to the story in a printed form with a variety of language choices, including Indonesian, English, French, Italian, Japanese and Mandarin. I usually watch in the Batubulan area. Batubulan is an art village located in the tourist area of Sukawati sub-district, Gianyar district, only about 40 minutes from Kuta. Okay ... what is Barong Dance? Barong dance tells of fighting between good parties against evil parties. Throughout the history of Balinese Barong dance, the good side is always depicted with the figure of Barong, a four-legged beast in which the two dancers are controlled. Whereas an evil party named Rangda, a scary woman-like figure who had two large grains of fangs in her mouth. In the story, telling about goodness and evil continues, no one wins and no one loses. The essence of this dance is to tell about human life that there is always good and evil, and this continues until now. Storyline looks a bit boring indeed but the dance is very interesting to see.
