Morning Mist

Norwich, England
February 24, 2019 3:47pm CST
I love getting up at the crack of dawn and listening to the dawn chorus. Last Thursday I was up nice and early and lifted the blinds in the kitchen to see a stunning but rather eerie mist floating across the meadow. It was in two layers so I could see the tops of the trees in the distant wood, a middle section of bushes and then the lower meadow grass and reeds. Needless to say, I just had to get my camera and take a photo to share with you.

Thank you for the kindness you have had to share your feelings about your environment and what happens in it. Thanks for sharing that beautiful photo. I congratulate you for everything that is part of your life and earthly existence. I usually get up early and enjoy the sunrise and the song of the birds that sing very early in the vicinity of my house.

That really is a lovely photo. An unexpected scene like this is really like a small gift isn't it?

I just love getting into nature! I've always said to Adam, my partner, that I'd hate to lose my sight as I can't imagine being able to see all the beauty out there!!

I love mornings like that too. I remember one morning having a layer of mist a bit like that, people were playing ball in it which was so funny as you could just see their heads, and the ball appearing and disappearing!

I had a similar thing last summer when our animal sanctuary cattle were out in the meadow. The mist was just high enough to expose their legs but had completely covered their heads!

@olliesmum Are those the herd of cattle that were gifted by the farmer?

@Fleura Probably not as the ones we see have been very badly abused or are getting old. Wendy, who runs the sanctuary, told me that they put the most vulnerable ones here as they're close enough to the sanctuary to enable someone to check on them twice a day.

@olliesmum Yes I see the photo. I love to see sun shining when I look out to see how the weather is. Today when I was out this morning the weather was cold and raining.

It's pretty grim here in the UK too. Gale force winds and driving rain, although today is sunny but we've still got a biting wind.
