On my last visit to NY I went for a walk in Central Park and was surprised to find squirrels living in the park (photo). In my city of Sydney we have a "central park" called Hyde Park and you often see sights like this and you can be forgiven in thinking we also have squirrels in the park. Despite their similar appearance, ours are Possums which are marsupials, more related to Koala's and kangaroos than squirrels.

A lot of people make squirrels as their pets. Cute.

I haven't seen them up close. However, we do have the Philippines squirrels. But they can be seen in the Manila Zoo.

No squirrels in Australia? We have possums here. They are not (to my eyes) as cute as squirrels.

Opossums are common on the US. Don't know if they are in Central Park.
