So, the S. Carolina resident claims $1.5 billion Mega Millions Jackpot, finally. People sounded worried no one would claim it. I kind have been following this story and from the sounds of things the people in charge sounded nervous. I do not know, the way the news articles reported on this I guess. Reading the tea leaves so to speak. They actually sounded more happy than the person who actually won. South Carolina would have only received 11 million if no one claimed, but now that said person has, the state will receive 61 million in taxes from the winning person of lottery ticket It is the biggest winning of the lottery to a single person in US history. They chose to take a one time payment of $877,784,124. From the sounds of things they are not greedy and knew what they were doing. Trying to remain hidden or anonymous. I do not blame them one bit because look at how the people in charge were acting. South Carolina is one of the only states in US where a lottery winner has the choice to remain anonymous. I personally think all states should be that way. Money makes people do strange things and again reading the tea leaves. People sounded like they were after that money.

i also think all winners should be given the option of remaining anonymous. once youre rich, your safety is now at a higher risk. first thing id do after i get the first million in my bank account- go through the system to get a CCW.

Yeah, I definitely would move at the very least and if New Zealand is where I need to go to get away from the madness, then so be it.

I remember reading an article that said 90% of people that win lotteries lose the money within 5 years. Sad, not sure why that happens.

Oh yes, they should remain anonymous just like in my country, i dont know why in the US they still show the face of the winner. Anyway, what would you do if you won that amount? Would you leave the country?
