I Didn’t See Her (Poem)

I didn’t see her
Not really
Just a silent
Memory
A shadow
Of who she would
Be.
She’d heard the judgements
The quiet
Speculation
Of those who
We’re quick
To make assumptions.
They see the
Wheelchair
And not the person
And her abilities.
I was was one of
The ones
Who quietly
Speculate
But I didn’t
Want to pass
Judgement
Become one of
The one’s guilty
Of jumping
To a false
Conclusion.

@Michellekidwell person with disabilities. This may be offered to them ... some people can't see them as a person and also their abilities but see them as a person on the wheelchair.

PWD’s? I’m not familiar? If you can tell me more I’d love to know about it!
